REHOMING POLICIES PLEASE READ
PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE A STRICT NO PTS POLICY AND NEVER PUT A HEALTHY ANIMAL TO SLEEP!
We are determined to find good, loving homes for the animals in our care. As such, we have the following rehoming policies:
DONT PUT US IN A BOX!
Before applying to rehome one of our rabbits, please think carefully about whether a rabbit is for you. Visit the rabbit care section for more information, and remember a rabbit is a long term commitment, as they can live for 8 years or longer, and as such we try where possible to work to RWA/national RSPCA housing size guidelines,
please ask what size rabbit hutch rabbit actually need BEFORE purchasing hutches, as many pet shops are selling hutches that are not adiquate sized for rabbits, playhouses and sheds are often much cheaper than hutches and provide the sort of space required..
We will carry out homechecks prior to rehoming wherever possible. this is where we come to view your rabbits acommodation to see whether it is suitable for the rabbit/s you wish to rehome, and to answer any questions you may have. When this is not possible, we will require a vet reference. please see our care page for detail on housing
There is an adoption fee of £45 minimum, which is a contribution towards the costs of neutering, vaccinating and worming and caring, feeding for the rabbits. You are of course very welcome to give more to help out with our costs, as the suggested donation DOES NOT fully cover costs and contury to believe we DO NOT get cheap or free veterinary care.. We are self funded and receive NO other funds.
Average costs of neutering is £70 female spey and £50 for male castration. and between £16/20 PER vaccination, mysimatosis being needed every six months and VHD needed anually.
All rabbits will be fully vaccinated and neutered and wormed whenever possible.
Some rabbits may not be able to be neutered, due to age or health issues, in these cases you will be required to sign a confirmation that they will under no circumstances be used for breeding.
Rabbits are social animals, and as such we prefer NOT to rehome a rabbit to live on their own. All rabbits will either be homed as pairs, or to live with an existing single rabbit, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
A bonding service is available free of charge, if you are looking for the perfect match for your single rabbit (see sucesses page) . please ask for details
If an adoption falls through, or you are unable to care for a rabbit rehomed via our rescue, please return them to us (with prior notice). you are NOT permitted to rehome the bunny yourselves, we also REQUIRE notice of any change in the said rabbit/s circumstances.
Having read the above, and you are still interested in rehoming a rabbit, or pair, from us? Please email us or call on 020 8500 9831 to make an appointment to view.
